BBS + Dach GmbH impressed with special expertise in the repair of traditional shed roofs. Albéa Deutschland GmbH engaged the specialists for a second time to permanently and ecologically seal an even larger roof area than before - and thus also to preserve a stylish and at the same time effective construction of factory buildings for future generations in its original form.

The almost vertical windows of the shed roofs allow natural light to fall into the production halls below without creating shadows. This increases the well-being of the people working here and enhances their performance. The roof shape developed in England also allows for largely support-free rooms, which can therefore be used very flexibly.

Albéa had spent a long time looking for a suitable partner who could renovate the company roofs from the 1960s with the necessary know-how and sensitivity at the production site in Scheßlitz in the Franconian Jura. As it turned out, the good thing was so close in Bamberg, barely 20 kilometres away.

In summer 2018, the company was allowed to treat around 2,200 square metres of roof of the landscape-shaping industrial buildings with a solvent-free, two-component liquid plastic - with excellent results. From May to mid-August 2019, five further shed roofs had to be prepared. First, the primer KEMPERTEC EP-Primer of KEMPER SYSTEM GmbH & Co. KG applied. The sealing material used was KEMPEROL 2K-PUR used by the same supplier from Vellmar in Hesse, north of Kassel.

KEMPEROL 2K-PUR is manufactured on the basis of flexible polyurethane resins and meets sustainability criteria, as a good 80 percent of the resins used are obtained from renewable raw materials (castor oil). KEMPEROL 2K-PUR is odourless and was specially developed for sensitive areas. For an environment in which odour nuisance due to volatile solvents is undesirable or could disrupt the operating process.
