One of the most important transport hubs in the Austrian region of Vorderland-Feldkirch is the railway station in Rankweil, a community of 12,000 inhabitants. To ensure that it can meet today's requirements and that public transport here will continue to flow smoothly in the future, it has been completely renovated and extensively modernised in recent years. KEMPER SYSTEM has also made a contribution here: our roof waterproofing systems were used to seal the roof.
The new building complex, which was opened in autumn 2018, was not only designed with trains in mind; the linking of rail transport with buses, cars, bicycles and pedestrians also played a major role. According to Rankweil's mayor at the time, Martin Summer, the new station will further strengthen the municipality as one of the largest school and business locations in Vorarlberg, and he was hopeful that many citizens will use public transport in the future.
The local roofing company ENTNER-DACH, a family business that has been around for 55 years, was responsible for priming and sealing the roof of the 2,000 square metre building. Our KEMPEROL AC-Products – which not only score points with their fast and uncomplicated processing, but can also withstand special challenges. One such challenge in Rankweil was the roof structure, which is relatively irregular throughout.
To prime the concrete roof, the roofers used our KEMPERTEC AC, which is ideally suited to creating a strong, durable bond between the substrate and our KEMPEROL AC Speed. The liquid waterproofing KEMPEROL AC Speed was then applied to the primed surface - which can theoretically be done within a very short time. The curing time for both products is only 30 and 60 minutes respectively.
