In the bustling city of Zabrze, Poland, the new bus station serves as the central hub for residents, travelers, and commuters. This modern bus station represents innovative and sustainable solutions, aiming to ensure comfortable and secure travel for passengers in the future. To achieve this goal, a long-term roof waterproofing solution was needed for the new station building. A Firestone FPO membrane had already been installed on the roof surface. The challenge was to find a durable waterproofing solution for connections and details, in collaboration with the NDI general contractor.
A suitable system for the connection area was quickly identified to create a seamless transition between the existing FPO membrane and the concrete wall connection. KEMPEROL offers the right solution for all challenges.
Based on their positive experiences, our partner and specialized contractor, Barel Management,
decided to use the one-component and solvent-free KEMPEROL 1K-SF in combination with the KEMPERPLAN Primer in all connection areas.
KEMPEROL 1K-SF is the perfect solution for all combined areas where KEMPEROL is complexly combined with other materials on the surface. To serve as an optimal adhesive for the Firestone FPO membrane, the KEMPERPLAN Primer was first applied as a primer on 1,500 running meters, followed by liquid waterproofing with the solvent-free KEMPEROL 1K-SF. A special highlight of the project is the planned green roof of the bus station, which will be made accessible to the public. This green space not only offers a pleasant atmosphere but also contributes to sustainability and the creation of open areas in the urban environment.
