“The perfect solution for every challenge” – not just the KEMPER SYSTEM motto, but lived in every application, and the project in Prague, Czech Republic, once again proves this with flying colours. There, a suitable solution was needed for the listed historic roof structure of a garage in order to protect the glass blocks installed there from all kinds of weather while also preserving the transparency of the glass components.

This was no easy task, especially as faithful preservation was desired and no changes were permitted to the 200-square-metre building for reasons of monument protection. A solution was required, not least because rain and moisture were increasingly penetrating the garage roof – a solution that the specialists Pro Urban s.r.o were able to find with KEMPEROL, together with our partner LS SYSTEM.

They started with KEMPERTERC EP primer on the concrete surfaces and COETRANStransparentprimer on the transparent glass blocks to build the right base layer for both substrates. The next step was to apply the tried-and-tested KEMPEROL 2K-PUR in the special colour RAL 7035 to provide suitable waterproofing. As a final step, two layers of COETRANS balcony coating in transparent were applied.

The result: An all-round waterproofed and protected garage roof that continues to provide the right ray of light thanks to the transparent products!
