The Cegléd Városi Sportuszoda in Hungary, also known as the Cegléd Municipal Sports Pool, has an impressive history. It was already built in 1934 and initially served only as a swimming pool. Later, a spring of medicinal water was discovered on the premises, which gave the operators the opportunity to expand the range of services for visitors. For 80 years, the local facility did not undergo any major renovations, which was made up for at the beginning of the new millennium. In February 2014, the sports pool was finally reopened with a completely new, monolithic reinforced concrete grandstand. At the same time, it was given the new name Cegléd Városi Sportuszoda to underline its reopening and transformation. The sports pool and the spectator grandstand are well used by amateur and professional athletes and their companions.

Under the grandstand is the water heating house. Because of the machines, the heat exchangers and the high-temperature thermal water, there is a high internal temperature (35 to 38 °C) in the boiler house during winter time. Whereas on the outside of the grandstand temperatures can drop to -20 °C in winter. Due to the high temperature difference (40 to 50 °C) between the two surfaces and its permanent change, the floor coverings on the grandstand became detached. Already in 2020, those responsible for the swimming pool contacted company Enterol Kft. In order to find a professional solution for waterproofing and coating the grandstand.

As a long-standing partner of KEMPER SYSTEM, the company commissioned, Enterol Kft. from Hungary, opted for our proven liquid waterproofing products from KEMPEROL for the waterproofing and coating works. Previously to the renovation phase, it was their task was to find a suitable waterproofing system for the approximately 280m² grandstand. Based on their positive experience, Enterol Kft. opted for the 2-component KEMPEROL 2K-PUR waterproofing in combination with KEMPERTEC EP Primer in all areas. KEMPEROL 2K-PUR is solvent-free and low-odour and can be used in sensitive areas. In addition, the waterproofing is water vapour diffusible, so there is no detachment of the floor covering.

Before the waterproofing work could begin, the old floor covering had to be carefully removed from the substrate. Then the concrete surface of the grandstand was grinded off and the unevenness levelled out with the concrete repair mortar. After the repair mortar had dried, the solvent-free KEMPERTEC EP Primer was applied to the substrate with a perlon roller and scattered with KEMCO NQ 0408 Natural Quartz as a bonding agent. The surface was then waterproofed with our KEMPEROL 2K-PUR and KEMPEROL 165 Fleece reinforcement.

For decorative purposes and to seal the surface, the entire grandstand was coated with KEMPERDUR AC-Finish and scattered with KEMCO NQ 0408 Natural Quartz for optimum slip resistance. To match the club logo of CVSE Sports Club, the front sides of the steps were sealed with KEMPERDUR AC-Finish in blue and yellow.
